This law school is designed as an experiential learning environment that draws upon the knowledge of the past and future technology to provide a superior education for the 21st century student. Its design reflects these attributes in the way it applies traditional brick, stone, and other materials in contemporary forms: they nod to the past as they hint at how the practice of law may be further ennobled in decades to come.
Anchoring the growing Indiana Tech campus toward the heart of downtown Fort Wayne, the new Law School is an iconic building. It houses a two-story courtroom with student lifestyle spaces on the third floor, a three-level library, classrooms, admissions, and a dean’s suite. All are interconnected by a linear three-story “spine” of faculty offices and common spaces. A legal clinic for community outreach of legal services is housed on the first floor and is integrated with, yet independent from, core program spaces. Student lifestyle spaces are activated throughout the facility to foster interaction between students, faculty, and staff, which further enhances the learning environment.
