Boys and Girls Club of Fort Wayne

Fort Wayne, Indiana

  • Regional
  • Businesses and Non-Profits

Outgrowing the capacity of their original building at the time, the Boys and Girls Club of Fort Wayne embarked on a capital campaign mission to raise more than $8 million dollars to construct a world-class facility for children.

Highlighting spaces needed to transform the lives of teenage children was especially important in this new facility. Presenting kids to career opportunities through various classrooms, collaboration zones, mentorship and tutoring spaces was a priority throughout all of the design stages. The entire second floor is practically dedicated to teenagers with several learning center rooms, an e-gaming suite, a dance studio, a café, and a game room. The space flows to encourage learning and growth but also allows freedom to take breaks and enjoy friendships.

The first floor includes a trades partnering room to teach future generations the various opportunities through trades programs. Additional spaces included are 3 large learning center rooms, a STEAM/art lab, a gymnasium, both large and small game rooms, and a multi-purpose/cafeteria for select performances. The new space also allows a large office suite to accommodate the growing staff and storage needs.

Rock blasting at the Lawrence County Public Safety & Services Center project in Deadwood, South Dakota!

The sanitary sewer line entered the new building from the north, which was located at the very right of the screen. During excavation, rock was encountered underground. At the same time, more rock was discovered where other underground utilities were to enter the building from the west. The best option for the construction to continue in an efficient manner was to blast the rock out of the ground. The contractor laid out a plan for blasting that would take care of both problems.

We're glad to be working with Construction Manager RCS Construction on this new facility!

The Air Force Thunderbirds have named the 2022 Fort Wayne Air Show the Best Military Air Show Site of the Year at the ICAS - International Council of Air Shows in December!

Elevatus has been fortunate to be a part of several Fort Wayne Air Show events. Fort Wayne Air Show Board President and Elevatus CEO Michael Gouloff has brought this exciting show to the Summit City for numerous years. We are thankful for the community's support in creating such an amazing initiative. We are especially thankful for The Landing Fort Wayne's lead in hosting the 2022 Fort Wayne Air Show kickoff event in downtown Fort Wayne.

The 122nd Fighter Wing has been a magnificent host and operator for air shows, and we can't send enough gratitude to them.

"Elevatus not only understands the higher education market place, they understand our university needs comprehensively. They are able to convert learning modalities and educational pedagogies into physical, durable locations within our buildings that serve faculties and students in an excellent fashion.”

Arthur E. Snyder, Ed.D.

Past President, Indiana Tech

"The level of service that Fort Wayne Community Schools received during the construction of New Tech Academy was superb. The architects were innovative and took the time to truly understand the different learning modalities that we wanted. They always gave close attention to details, schedule, and construction costs."

Liz Bryan

Director, New Tech Academy Wayne High School

"Sanilac County has continuously relied on Elevatus for their expertise and dedication to quality of service, and I have actively worked with them in the planning stages of our renovation and jail expansion project. I give my full recommendation for Elevatus for design and construction on building projects."

Garry M. Biniecki

"I want to express my appreciation to the customer-oriented Elevatus for a job well done on our penitentiary at Terre Haute. Their incorporation of many complex design modifications to the Central Utility Plant without falling a single day behind schedule was particularly impressive. I look forward to the possibility of working on future projects with them."

Clifton L. Spence, III

Senior Project Manager, Department of Justice Federal Bureau of Prisons, Washington, DC

"We chose Elevatus for our team on The Northeast Indiana Regional Public Safety Academy because of their extensive national experience in public safety, green, and educational facility design. Their role was critical in creating a building that was highly functional, energy-efficient, and striking in appearance. Elevatus receives my highest recommendation.”

Graham Richard

"My experience with Elevatus has been excellent. I actively worked with them during the planning stages of rehabilitating an existing structure into a work release center, constructing a new jail facility, and expanding our existing Justice Building. They were always willing to listen to concerns and were sensitive to the county’s conservative spending sensitivity to the county’s conservative fiscal spending."
