Wedged in between and enhancing the existing pine grove and north-south pedestrian spine of the campus, the building was designed as a musical bar, crescendoing in plan and elevation from north to south, climaxing at its crown jewel: the auditorium, recognized as one of finest acoustically performing spaces in the region and winning accolades for its aesthetic design from the AIA.
Among its many notable features are a 250-seat recital hall, classrooms and student practice rooms choral and instrumental rehearsal halls, faculty studios, a 1,600-seat auditorium, an art gallery, percussion studios, piano labs, and administrative and community offices.
